Highly recommend a visit, informative, lots to see, dog friendly.  - What a lovely friendly, well run and informative museum. Absolutely full of things to look at, information boards to read and with lots of very enthusiastic friendly volunteers on hand... read more to teach you something new or discuss something interesting.
It was always on our holiday list to visit but we did end up going on a rainy day which i guess was perfect.
We listened to a talk on guns which was really informative with the opportunity to handle some and one of those displays where people of a certain age start saying 'oh nan had one of those' or ' i have one of those in the loft' or in my daughter's case 'Vaseline cannot be that old, yuck, i use that'!!
This museum is dog friendly throughout although for nervous dogs it is quite loud acoustically especially in the rain. I ended up standing outside a bit but that's fine.
Highly recommend a visit.
